The Bobrick B-3944 Paper Towel Dispenser and Waste Receptacle is a durable, recessed stainless steel combination unit designed for commercial restrooms, public facilities, office buildings, schools, healthcare environments, hospitality properties, and other high-traffic washroom applications. This unit combines a high-capacity folded paper towel dispenser with a removable 12-gallon waste receptacle in one clean, space-saving assembly.

Built from 18-8, Type-304 stainless steel, the B-3944 delivers long-term corrosion resistance, dependable performance, and a professional satin finish that complements modern commercial restroom designs. Its recessed installation helps reduce projection from the wall while maintaining a clean, built-in appearance.

The cabinet features heavy-gauge welded stainless steel construction for strength and durability. The exposed surfaces are finished in satin stainless steel for an attractive, easy-to-maintain appearance. The drawn, beveled, one-piece seamless flange provides a finished perimeter around the wall opening and helps create a clean architectural look after installation.

The front door is constructed from 22-gauge Type-304 stainless steel with a satin finish and features a strong double-pan-back design. It is secured to the cabinet with a full-length stainless steel piano hinge for reliable operation and long service life. A semi-concealed tumbler lock, keyed like other Bobrick washroom accessories, helps protect paper towel supplies and allows authorized maintenance access.

The built-in paper towel dispenser accommodates either 600 C-fold towels or 800 multifold towels without requiring adjustment or adapters. The rounded towel tray includes a hemmed dispensing opening designed to allow paper towels to dispense smoothly while helping reduce tearing during use.

Below the towel dispenser, the unit includes a removable 12-gallon waste receptacle made from 22-gauge Type-304 stainless steel with a satin finish. The front and side bottom edges, along with all top edges, are hemmed for safe handling during servicing. The waste receptacle is secured to the cabinet with a tumbler lock and can be removed easily when unlocked for emptying.

For facilities that use disposable trash liners, the optional Bobrick 3944-134 LinerMate® accessory is available. LinerMate helps eliminate unsightly trash liner overhang and makes liner installation and removal easier inside the 12-gallon waste receptacle.

The B-3944 is also compatible with the optional Bobrick 3944-130 TowelMate® accessory, which helps dispense paper towels one at a time while reducing towel bulging, sagging, or accidental falling through the tray opening. The 90-degree return on the towel guide helps prevent towels from falling forward when the door is opened for servicing.

This model is field convertible to accommodate changing restroom needs. The standard folded towel dispensing module can be converted to a universal touch-free roll towel dispenser or an automatic universal roll towel dispenser using separately ordered Bobrick conversion modules.

Material & Construction

The cabinet is fabricated from heavy-gauge 18-8, Type-304 stainless steel with welded construction. All exposed surfaces feature a satin finish.

The flange is made from 22-gauge Type-304 stainless steel and has a drawn, beveled, seamless one-piece construction.

The door is constructed from 22-gauge Type-304 stainless steel with a satin finish and double-pan-back construction. It is attached with a full-length stainless steel piano hinge and secured with a semi-concealed tumbler lock.

The paper towel dispenser is also made from 22-gauge Type-304 stainless steel and includes a rounded towel tray with a hemmed dispensing opening.

The waste receptacle is made from 22-gauge Type-304 stainless steel with hemmed edges for safe removal and handling.

Operation

The paper towel dispenser accepts C-fold or multifold paper towels without field adjustment or adapter parts. The waste receptacle is removed for servicing by unlocking it with the key provided.

This unit can be upgraded in the field with optional Bobrick roll towel dispenser modules, allowing the facility to convert the unit to touch-free or automatic roll towel dispensing as restroom needs change.

Installation Requirements

The Bobrick B-3944 requires a framed rough wall opening of 16″ wide x 54-3/4″ high. Minimum recessed depth required to the finished face of the wall is 4″.

Coordinate installation with the mechanical engineer to avoid conflicts with pipes, vents, conduits, or other construction features that may project into the wall opening. If the unit extends above the top of wainscot, an aluminum channel or suitable filler should be provided to eliminate any gap between the flange and finished wall surface.

The unit is mounted in the wall opening using shims between the framing and cabinet at the designated securing points, then fastened with #8 x 1-1/4″ sheet-metal screws. Mounting screws are not furnished.
