The ASI 165 is a front-mounted 24″ security grab bar with a closure plate, made of Type 304 stainless steel with a satin finish on all exposed surfaces. The 1-1⁄2″ diameter tubing has an 18 gauge wall, and the 1⁄8″ thick, 3″ diameter flanges are fully welded to the tube ends. For an anti-ligature design, a 12 gauge closure plate is welded to the bottom of the bar, and the plate has a built-in drainage system. The bar mounts to the finished wall with six 1⁄4-20 pin Torx button head machine screws (suggested, by others). ASI states the bar is built to support a load in excess of 250 pounds, provided the wall fasteners are sized for the loads. For 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards, the top of the bar is installed 33″ minimum to 36″ maximum AFF. ASI lists a warranty of one year from the date of invoice.
