The Bobrick B-5837 is a 36″ x 54″ two-wall grab bar with a 1-1⁄4″ diameter. It is made of 18-8, type-304, 18-gauge stainless steel tubing with a satin-finish, slip-resistant surface, and the ends are heliarc welded to the flanges. The legs measure 36″ and 4″ + 50″, with an intermediate flange near the corner. Concealed 11-gauge stainless end and intermediate flanges are covered by 3-1⁄4″ snap flange covers. Bobrick states grab bars with 1-1⁄2″ clearance from the wall support loads in excess of 900 pounds if properly installed. The TDS includes ADA/ICC/CBC guidance to mount the bar 33″ minimum to 36″ above the finished floor.
