Materials
The shelf is constructed entirely of 20 gauge (0.91mm) Type 304 stainless steel featuring double wall, welded construction. All exposed surfaces have a satin-finish. The desk is secured to the cabinet with a full-length stainless steel piano-hinge.
Operation
This folding utility shelf is suitable for writing, laptop computer usage, or instrument storage. The unit folds up when not in use to maintain a compact, minimal profile. It is equipped with twin desk supports capable of handling loads up to 60 lbs. A positive action catch holds the desk firmly in place in the stored position. To operate, pull on the handle in the upper left corner and lower the table to a horizontal position. To close, raise the table to a vertical position until it clicks into place.
Installation
Mount the unit on the wall with four sheet-metal screws at the designated points. For plaster or drywall construction, provide concealed backing to comply with local building codes, then secure the unit with sheet-metal screws. For other wall constructions, provide fiber plugs or expansion shields for use with sheet-metal screws, or provide 1/8″ (3mm) toggle bolts or expansion bolts. If the unit projects above the top of the wainscot, provide an aluminum channel or other filler to eliminate the gap between the unit and the finish face of the wall.
